The Gift

Once upon a time, long, long ago, two people met through their love of music.  I was a medical assistant (and wanna be singer), and he a guitarist.  They connected musically and performed together in the Cincinnati area and became friends.  I soon gave up the white uniform of a medical assistant.  The guitarist, Sandy, put on a white coat and moved away.  I kept singing, stayed in Cincinnati, married and raised a family.

Fast forward fifty years. I was singing at a local event and a friend approached me carrying a large envelope with my name on the front.  Inside the envelope were several CDs of my performances during the 70s-what an amazing surprise!  I considered the package to be a gift from the past.  One of the CDs contained a performance from the summer of 1978 at Bentley’s in Cincinnati.  I sent a copy to Sandy in Phoenix. He too was impressed by the CD’s quality as well as its spirited content. It also truly captured our musical connection.

We knew that it was time to share that part of our musical lives with others.

May this musical gift –of voice, guitar and pure joy-bring you as much pleasure as sharing it with you has brought to us.
